Dr. Narcisa Medranda (Chair) and Dr. Roberto Sánchez (Co-chair) of the 1st International Interdisciplinary Congress on Social Sciences (CIICIS 2026) participated in the 3rd International Conference on Communication and Artificial Intelligence: Critical Approaches and Future Scenarios for Communication, organized by the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, and the Universidad Central del Ecuador. The event served as a forum for reflection on the challenges and transformations posed by the integration of new technologies into the field of communication. 3 Conferencia Internacional de Comunicación e Inteligencia Artificial: abordajes críticos y escenarios futuros para la comunicación, organizada por la Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, la Universidad Politécnica Salesiana y la Universidad Central del Ecuador. El evento se desarrolló como un espacio de reflexión sobre los desafíos y las transformaciones que plantea la incorporación de las nuevas tecnologías en el campo de la comunicación.
During the meeting, Dr. Medranda addressed artificial intelligence as a communicative agent and reflected on the transformations this technology brings about in areas such as identity construction, citizenship, and social trust. For his part, Dr. Sánchez focused his presentation on AI-mediated academic management and the challenges arising from its implementation.
Against this backdrop, the 1st International Interdisciplinary Congress on Social Sciences (CIICIS 2026) invites the academic community and the interested public to participate in this international gathering, which will take place from November 11 to 13, 2026, in a hybrid format at the Salesian Polytechnic University’s Quito campus.
En este contexto, el I Congreso Internacional Interdisciplinario de Ciencias Sociales (CIICIS 2026) invita a la comunidad académica y al público interesado a ser parte de este encuentro internacional, que se desarrollará del 11 al 13 de noviembre de 2026, en modalidad híbrida, en las instalaciones de la Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, sede Quito.
The congress will serve as a space for the exchange of knowledge and for reflection on the current challenges and transformations within the social sciences.
